BUSINESS PARTNERS GEAR UP FOR SECOND YEAR OF SUCCESS

September 1, 2015

The Timberlane Regional School District is proud to announce the second year of its School and Community Partnership Program.  The program, established in 2014, is committed to building and maintaining mutually beneficial educational partnerships by providing collaborative opportunities to support and enhance student aspirations and community needs. Partnerships are more than just monetary donations; they include student volunteer opportunities, classroom visits, and business participation in school events, fundraising opportunities and service on school partnership advisory committees. The District welcomes businesses to join in supporting the academics and activities of all grade levels in our schools. Our partnerships to date include:

Uno Pizzeria & Grill – Uno’s District-wide “Get Brighter” Fundraiser that encourages families to donate to their favorite school when they dine at Uno’s Barr and Grill.

AJB Farms – Landscaping Division – Owner Andrew Borisko donates money and volunteers to work each year at the Project Hope Strut for the Cure Cancer Awareness Fundraiser.

Engineering Advisory Council – Several local engineering firms sit on our Advisory Council for the High School Engineering Program helping to develop programs to support our Engineering Curriculum.

Exxon-Mobil – Provides a $4, 000 grant that helps support our K-12 STEM Programing including an annual STEM Summer Camp.

Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce – Timberlane sits on the Business and Education Council that looks to create job fairs, educational site visits to various businesses and brings schools, community services, and business owners together to create these programs.

Greater Lawrence Community Boating Summer Enrichment Program – Greater Lawrence Community Boating donates three free visits a year for our staff and students to develop leadership, and a school culture of community and collaboration through on-the-water programs for middle and high school students and their teachers.

New Balance – Robotics Grant – New Balance has given $4, 000 to our robotics team to outfit the team and support their preparation for robotics competitions throughout New England.

CW Keller and Associates – This local engineering firm has worked in conjunction with our Business Department to create professional development classes for their employees. Last year Timberlane High School teachers taught classes in EXCEL and basic typing for the staff of CW Keller.

Men’s Wearhouse – Dress For Success Program – This year the Timberlane Business Department will be working with Men’s Wearhouse to help your young men and women move into college and the working world. The program covers the topics of interview preparation tips, how to make a positive first impression, appropriate interview and career apparel, and what to look for in the fit of a suit for both men and women.

Plaistow Community YMCA – The Timberlane Regional School District has been working with the YMCA on a number of different initiatives including exercise classes for teachers, leadership programs for middle school students, a workplace wellness program for the district, after school and evening programs for all students, and community service projects with the TRHS Student Council.

TD Bank – TD Bank professionals will be visiting business classes in the middle and high schools during the 2015/16 school year to discuss banking and personal finance.

Loral Press – Loral Press has graciously donated the printing for the monthly School Board Newsletter. These copies will be distributed to local libraries and town halls.

Access Sports Medicine – Access Sports Medicine has graciously donated an Automated External Defibrillator to our high school.

Align Credit Union – Align Credit Union generously donated two iPads as prizes for our district-wide fundraiser in 2014/15.

Each business that partners with our schools receives its own PARTNER PAGE on our partnership website and an individual tweet and press release once the partnership has begun.

Know of a business that might be interested in partnering with us? Please share our link below for more information on how to become a partner or call Scott Strainge, Business and Community Partnership Program Director at (603)382-6541 ext. 3907.  Moving forward, we will celebrate each partnership with a press release to let you know which businesses are supporting our students and programs.

Supporting public education through business partnerships is a wonderful way to give back to your patrons and the community members who support your business.
