Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce to Host Interview Competition

March 2, 2016

On Thursday, March 10th, the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce through their Business Education Collaborative will be hosting an Interview Competition for 22 Timberlane students in Ms. Antoinette DeSisto’s Accelerated Entrepreneurship Class. By way of the Timberlane Regional School District Community Partnership Program, Timberlane sits on this collaborative with surrounding school districts and businesses from the Chamber of Commerce. The Plaistow Area Commerce Exchange is also taking part in this event with some of their members participating as interviewers. Our students will be competing against other students from Sanborn Regional and Haverhill High schools. The first round, taking place on the 10th, will consist of one on one interviews for the students. In the second round, taking place later in March, the top five students from the three schools will compete in a panel interview with five different companies represented on the panel. For round three, taking place in April, the top three competitors overall will have one on one on-site interviews with a company from the panel. The winners will be announced at the Annual Chamber of Commerce dinner in May and the top three contestants will be invited that evening for the announcement of the winner.

We would like to thank Beverly Donovan of the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce and Sarah Coletti from Uno’s and the Plaistow Area Commerce Exchange for all of their help and support in making this competition a reality and for giving our students the opportunity to gain important experience as they enter the working world. This is a true representation of the power of community partnership.
