Two-Hour Delay For Friday, December 16th

December 15, 2016

WEATHER ADVISORY – WIND CHILL

The NOAA Weather Bureau is reporting wind chill values as low as -15 degrees overnight tonight and throughout the day tomorrow.  It is imperative that students dress appropriately as they wait for school buses or walk to school as even short term, unprotected exposure to such low temperatures can be unsafe.

Along with these precautions, parents, students and staff members are hereby placed on notice that the Superintendent has declared a two-hour delayed opening of school tomorrow (Friday) that will allow buses additional time to start and warm up as well as provide additional sunlight and sun warmth during the morning hours when students and staff are making their way to school.

Here in the Northeast we understand clearly the variations of our unique climate throughout the year. We also understand that we need to be prepared and respond wisely to all weather conditions. Dressing warm and in layers during the winter season is important.  Please see the links below from the NH Department of Health and Human Services for best practices in staying warm in frigid weather.
