Timberlane is Leading the Learning with ACHIEVE3000

January 31, 2017

Timberlane Regional School District secondary students in grades 6-8 are on an improved path to College and Career Readiness with the use of Achieve3000.  Achieve3000 is a blended learning tool designed to support the acquisition of skills in content literacy, specifically, the reading and comprehending of informational text; an area where students nationwide underachieve.

Timberlane Middle and High School students have been using Achieve3000 twice a week since November 2016 in core classes and at home.  As a result, approximately 105 secondary students in grades 6-12 have increased their Lexile Reading Level to be “On Track” for College and Career Readiness.  These results surpassed expectations for three months of usage.

Timberlane and Achieve3000 will host an Open House at the High School and Middle School campus on Wednesday, February 15th from 8:30-2:30 pm for educational leaders from several surrounding school districts, including out-of-state districts that are eager to learn of Timberlane’s success with Achieve3000.  Registrations to attend the Open House are being accepted at www.achieve3000.com/openhouse/timberlane.

Executive Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Learning, Debra Armfield, and Director of Data, Assessment, and Accountability, Christi Michaud, support the use of Achieve3000 as an instructional tool to further academic success for students.  Mrs. Michaud comments, “Timberlane educators and administrators recognize their part in improving content literacy for secondary students.  With the help of Achieve3000, educators in our district are maximizing the impact of rigorous instruction.” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Earl Metzler adds, “With the proper support the Timberlane teachers can maximize the use of this outstanding instructional tool! We are extremely pleased with our progress thus far.”
