Class of 2023 Transition to High School Important Dates & Information

January 15, 2019
  • Course selection information for freshmen year is presented to 8th grade students by high school guidance counselors at the middle school.
January 22, 2019
  • Information Night for Parents of Incoming Freshmen, PAC, 6:30 PM Learn about course selection and the course selection process, graduation requirements for the Class of 2021 and the plan to help your child transition to the high school.
January 31 and February 1, 2019
  • Course Selection days for 8th Middle school  teachers conference with students to review their recommended courses and levels with students.
February 4, 2019
  • Course Selection Sheets should be returned with a parent signature to 8th Grade teachers.
April 11, 2019
  • TRHS Freshmen Ambassadors visit 8th grade teams to talk about their first year high school experience and answer questions.
April 12, 2019
  • Senior Panel – A panel of selected seniors present their high school academic and co-curricular experiences to the 8th grade class. Presentation followed by a question and answer session. Eighth graders get a good look at the lives of TRHS students and the different opportunities that are available. 8:15 – 9:00 am in the PAC
Early June, Date TBD
  • PTSA Welcome Wagon Tours Come by to have a walk around the school in the evening at your own pace. Student leaders and administration will be available to show you around and answer your questions.
End of May or Early June

  • On-line fall sports registration and concussion testing is to be completed prior to the end
    of the current school year. All 8th grade parents will receive an email with directions on how to register their child to participate in fall sports at the high school.

August 27, 2019

(6:00 – 8:30 pm) 

  • Fall Sport Tryouts begin in August prior to start of school. Please check the athletics page on the website for dates. Fall Athletic Awareness Night is mandatory for all students participating in fall sports and their parents and will be held in August (date TBD).
  • Online Powerschool Student Registration for the 2019-20 school year will need to be completed by parent when an email from school district is received in August. Must be completed before the first day of school. Please contact the high school if your student will not be attending TRHS.
  • Freshmen students receive course schedules in early August. Counselor assignments will be posted on the website.
  • Freshmen Orientation Night, PAC and TRHS, will be held a few nights before school starts on August 29th. The evening will begin promptly at 6:00 pm at the Performing Arts Center. Students & Parents will be dismissed following the welcome address to follow Student Schedule. Travel from class to class. Each period will meet for 10 minutes for a brief introduction to the teacher, course syllabus and class expectations. Pick up student assigned chromebook.
