Senior Parent Information Night

Tuesday, September 26th at 6:30 pm

Parents of college bound seniors are invited to attend our Senior Parent Information Night. School counselors will review post-secondary planning, testing information, application deadlines, the common application, letters of recommendation, and types of scholarships. The process and protocols for applying to college through the school counseling office will be reviewed as well.  The counseling staff is meeting with all seniors to review this information during school this month.  The evening presentation is intended for the parents of college bound seniors. The evening will begin in the cafeteria and then will break out into smaller groups with counselors.

Common Application Work Sessions for Seniors

Counselors will be holding another drop in work session this Friday to help seniors start or put the finishing touches on their Common Application. Counselors will be on hand to answer questions as you work. Come down anytime during the following times.

N-Z Aug. 24th
HOURS: 9am -12pm  &  1pm -2:30pm
YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS TO REGISTER FOR PARKING:
•Original valid driver’s license
•Original car registration
•Copy of insurance card
•$25.00 check payable to TRHS

Thursday Night’s One-Act Performances Cancelled

Due to the snow storm and the missed school days, that the Thursday evening performance of the student written One-Act plays has been cancelled.  The Friday Night and Saturday night performances are still on.  Both shows are in the PAC Recital Hall.  Tickets are only $5.00 and both shows start at 7:00 p.m.

Understanding College Financial Award Letters & Financing Options

Monday, March 27th at 6:30 PM, PAC Recital Hall

If you have a student heading off to college as a freshmen for the Fall of 2017, this presentation is for you. The components of the financial award package, including federal student loans, grants and scholarships, and additional funding/financing options will be discussed. Presented by Val Castonguay from The NHHEAF Network and Barry Chooljian, Director of Guidance.

Junior Parent Information Night

Tuesday, March 21st at 6:30 PM, TRHS Cafeteria

Parents of college bound juniors are invited to attend an informational night on pursing a post-secondary education. Counselors will present information on the college search process, visitations, applications, deadlines and financial aid. The meeting will begin in the cafeteria and will break out into smaller group sessions with counselors.
We look forward to working cooperatively with parents to help our juniors meet their post-secondary goals.

Juniors will receive this information in school during the week of March 13th so need not attend.

Salem Career & Technical Education Program to Host Open House

Salem High School will be hosting a Career & Technical Education Open House on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 6:30pm-8:00pm for prospective students and their parents. This is in conjunction with Salem’s course information night.  CTE instructors will be in their classrooms and we will have CTE student tour guides available that night to assist.  We also will have student representation in the classrooms that night to answer questions and provide information as well. This is an excellent opportunity for sophomores to view Salem’s programs. Tours will be leaving from the new Davis gym.
