Principal’s News – March 2018

March 9, 2018

Are you ready for spring, because we are here at Sandown Central! It has been a great winter, but our students are ready to have outdoor recess every day.

We have a very busy month on the horizon. We will kick off the month with our on-going Preschool and Kindergarten registration along with our Owl PBIS roll-out and Live Owl Presentation.

Our Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) roll-out is to highlight and educate students as to what it means to be kind, respectful, responsible and safe students in school. Staff and our school mascot OWLIE joined in the presentation for students. Students were given an owl feather at the culmination of the event to inspire them to be kind and caring growing little owls. One of the favorite events for spring is our live Owl presentation where students get up close and personal to real owls. Presenters will share information about the life cycle of owls and give facts about their habitat, eating and sleep habits. Be sure to check our website at the end of the month for some photos. At this Live owl event on the 20th and 21st, we will also have our Preschool registration for new families to Sandown Central. Families are welcome to call the main office and register to attend one of the sessions. The Preschool team will be available to answer questions you may have.

Kindergarten registration began a few weeks ago. Please note K registration packets are due by April 6th. Please visit our school website for more information.

On March 22, 23, 26 and 27 we will have our Sandown Central annual Book Fair in the library. Students will be allowed to visit the Book Fair on their designated day to purchase books and get inspired to read. Please be on the lookout for more specific information about the Book Fair next week.

Thank you for your continued support and investment in our school.

Warm wishes for spring,

Principal Jen Marino
