Welcome Back 2019-2020 School Year

August 10, 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:

As we prepare to embark on the 2019-2020 school year, we would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to new and returning students to Timberlane Regional High School, Home of the Owls. Administration and staff have been busy this summer preparing for the upcoming year. We hope you are excited for an inspiring, rigorous, and enjoyable school year. We look forward to greeting you on the first day of school, Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 7:20AM. All students should report to their Block 1 (A), Semester 1 class. Students should review their schedule that was posted today, Tuesday, August 6th. If you are a senior and have a free block, you do not have to come in until your scheduled class. If you are a junior and have a study hall block 1(A), you can bring a note from a parent/guardian giving you permission to not attend study hall.

Please read the important information below for the start of the 2019 – 2020 school year:

Summer Assignments

All students are required to complete summer course work for semester 1 courses. Please be sure to check the TRHS website for requirements (http://www.timberlane.net/hs/summer/assignments/ ). All work must be turned in by Thursday, September 5th (A Day) and Friday, September 6th (B Day) for full credit. Please note that Advanced Placement (AP) courses have their own specific deadlines.

2019 – 2020 TRSD Online Student Registration & District Agreements

Timberlane Regional School District requires parents to access PowerSchool Enrollment (previously named InfoSnap) to update their students’ profile, emergency contact information, and health information for each new school year. In addition, it reminds parents and students to review the 2019-2020 TRHS Student Handbook, TRSD Rights and Responsibilities, and agree to district policies. These documents are located on our district and high school websites. The primary parent/guardian should have received an email indicating that the re-registration portal is open and accessed through your Powerschool Parent Portal. Completion of this process is mandatory and is required by state law to be submitted prior to the start of the school year. Incomplete registration will prohibit access to district technology.

Freshman & Transfer Student Orientation
Freshman Orientation will be held on Monday, August 26th in the Performing Arts Center and will begin promptly at 6:00PM. Freshman Orientation is an opportunity for students and their parents to follow their class schedule, find classrooms, and briefly meet teachers before the start of school.

Transfer Student Orientation will also be held on August 26th at 6:30PM. Students will meet in the School Counseling Office with staff and current students for an introduction to Timberlane, a question & answer session, and a tour around the school to find their classes.

Parent/Guardian & Student PowerSchool Accounts

Access to information on required coursework, current grades, attendance, and report cards is provided through PowerSchool. Parents/guardians and students are given separate access to a student’s account. If you have not yet created a Parent PowerSchool Account, please set up an account by following the directions found on the TRHS website under the documents tab entitled “Parent PowerSchool Portal Single Sign-On Instructions.” A parent/guardian account will require an Access ID Code and Access Password for each student you wish to add to your account. Student PowerSchool username and passwords are also on their schedules. Please note: All grade reports including progress reports and report cards are posted on PowerSchool accounts and will not be e-mailed or mailed home.
