Assistant Principal’s Welcome Letter

Dear Pollard Families,

It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Assistant Principal of Pollard Elementary School.  I am honored to have the opportunity to help lead a school with such persevering students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community.  I feel very fortunate to be part of this school and to support the staff, students, and families. My official start date was on July 1. I have enjoyed exploring the school and getting to know the wonderful staff members at Pollard!

I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than eighteen years.  I have worked with students ranging in age from Kindergarten through 5th grade in a variety of roles. I have been a kindergarten, first, second and fourth grade classroom teacher. I was an executive board member of the Pelham Teacher Union.   I am thrilled to bring my skills as an educator and leader to Pollard Elementary School and to work with you as a partner in education.

I view education as a life-long process and expect that I will continue to learn much about the uniqueness of Pollard this year and in the years to come.   Most importantly, I bring a belief that students are at the center of all school-related decisions.  I am excited to unite my experience, my openness to learn, and my child-centered approach to support our students.  Because the relationships between teachers, administrators and families are vital to the success of our students and school, I encourage you to come and visit me at the open house on Wednesday, August 24th! I am beyond excited to meet all of you.
