Our Technology Integrators have listed an initial list of recommended Apps for teachers to know about and learn. We’ve listed them below, with a *** priority, with 5 stars being ones we recommend you learn about first and those with fewer stars, even though excellent resources, should be learned once you have learned the high priority Apps.

	Google Docs	*****		A free tool for creating and editing documents. It is designed to be an alternative to Word and other word processing programs. It can be used online or offline (provided that you use the Chrome web browser). 	Google Sheets	****		Google spreadsheet tool (like Excel) that can be used to track information and perform functions on the data. Multiple people can work on a sheet at the same time. You can share a sheet with different permissions.	must be logged into Timberlane G Suite account
	Google Slides	*****		Google presentation tool (like PowerPoint). Multiple people can work on a presentation at the same time so this works great for students to work on group projects. Result can be downloaded into PowerPoint format if desired.	must be logged into Timberlane G Suite account
	Google Forms	*****		A tool provided by Google that makes it easy to survey or collect data that automatically gets stored into a spreadsheet or displayed in charts.account	must be logged into Timberlane G Suite account
	Google Calendar	*****		Google’s calendar is easy to use and you can have multiple calendars for different purposes with different access. Teachers may have a calendar for each class or club. It is easy for people to access calendar information from their phones or tablets.	must be logged into Timberlane G Suite account
	Google Classroom	*****		Google Classroom provides an easy interface for teachers to create assignments and share documents across the class of students. Also use the “Add to Classroom” Chrome extension.	must be logged into Timberlane G Suite account
	Flubaroo	***		Tool to use a Google form as a quiz and get a script to grade the quiz based on a single row of correct answers.	must be logged into Timberlane G Suite account
	Google Sites	**		Sites is a flexible way to publish a wide variety of information on the internet. Permissions may be set to a small or very large group of viewers. Multiple people can collaborate on sites.	must be logged into Timberlane G Suite account
	Chrome Extensions	*****		Chrome is the preferred browser for using Google Apps. Extensions add features to Chrome to enable you to do extra functionality like grammar checking, screen reading, changing screen presentation, etc.	Log into Chrome (different than logged into Timberlane G Suite account
	Google+	***		Google+ provides a way to link your Google account to other people of common interests and share information. This is recommended for teachers to share across their school and the district, and link up to other teachers for building their learning network.	must be logged into Timberlane G Suite account
	Youtube	*****		Provides a platform of videos you can view, along with providing a place you can post videos. Teachers can create channels and playlists and there are even editing tools online.	Need to be logged in to upload
	Lucid Chart	**		A Chrome App that provides an alternative to Inspiration that allows mindmapping, charting, venn diagrams, etc.	Chrome
	Lucid Press	**		A Chrome App that is used for brochure and newsletter layout and allows collaboration of several people.	Chrome
	Easybib	****		A Chrome App that helps students easily create citations in MLA or APA format.	Chrome
	Google Hangout	**		Google’s videoconferencing tool that allows you to conference up to 25 people at a time. It also has the capability to record it and post the archive on Youtube.	must be logged into Timberlane G Suite account
	Khan Academy	**	4-12	Learn for free about math, art, computer programming, economics, physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, finance, history , and more.
	Jing	**		Jing captures anything you see on your computer screen, as an image or short video, and lets you share it instantly
	Snagit	**		Snagit screen capture allows you to grab an image or video of what you see on your computer screen, add effects, and share with anyone. You can also create animated GIFs of a screen process.
	Screencastify	**		Chrome extension to easily create screencasts for video tutorials, record presentations etc.
	Screencast-O-Matic	**		A handy tool for recording screenshots and sharing them	Can use online or download app
	Quizlet	*****		Students can make their own, or choose from millions of flashcards sets created by others. Use several study modes including multiple choice tests and study games. You can add images and listen to audio, and even study on the go with one of dozens of Quizlet-compatible mobile apps.
	PowToon Presentation Edu	***		PowToon lets you create awesome presentations and animated videos.
	Socrative Teacher	***		Socrative is a formative assessment tool. Educators can write questions on the fly or build quizzes ahead of time and see immediate results. Also can see results later in email format.	Use on either computers or devices or Chromebooks
