Superintendent’s Message

December 6, 2012

Hello Timberlane Community,

As the Holidays quickly approach I hope that you can find the time to enjoy one or more of the many outstanding performances at the Performing Arts Center. The live concert schedule provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate the holiday season with friends and family. A special thanks to our Music Department as they continue to set a very high standard for our children. Timberlane continues to” lead the learning” in Music education both  locally and nationally.

We are working diligently with both the Budget Committee and School Board to take advantage of the budgeting process to improve our schools. Our plan is to work smart with the resources that we do have and provide the taxpayers with a respectful and resourceful budget to support. This year has provided both challenges and opportunities for the Superintendent’s Leadership Team. Every difficult decision is made by putting the students first and in the spirit of increasing student achievement on all levels. The commitment to public service by our elected officials continues to be impressive. I would encourage you to reach out to our elected officials if you have questions about the proposed budget at any time during the process.

The District Leadership Team is working on a District Action Plan to set the direction for next year. Individual schools will be working on School Action Plans that link into the District Action Plan. Our plans will focus on four key areas, assessment and data, climate and communication, facilities and grounds, and response to instruction. We have kept these four key areas in mind as we prepare the budget for next year.

Parents and guardians either have already received reports cards or will be shortly. I encourage you to contact  the individual schools if you have any questions and/or concerns. We are here to serve you, so please ask for help if you need it.

Once again, thank you for your continued support. Please feel free to contact my office at 603-382-6119 Ext 2217 if you have any questions and or concerns. I hope all of the Timberlane families have a safe and healthy holiday season.

Respectfully,

Dr. Earl F. Metzler, Superintendent
