As the chief executive officer for both the Hampstead and Timberlane School Districts, the Superintendent is charged with managing all administrative and leadership services in the areas of personnel, finance ($96+ million combined budgets), communication and community relations, student services, facilities, maintenance and capital improvement, curriculum, instruction, assessment, governance for student achievement, policy research and implementation, and other educational issues. In doing so, he relies on the expertise and support of other administrators that comprise the Superintendent’s Leadership Team (SLT), the Assistant Superintendent’s Leadership Team (ASLT), and the SAU Leadership Team where data-driven decisions and initiatives are made and programs and systems are developed, examined and improved. The combined enrollment of both school districts totals almost 5, 200 students. Since his hiring in 2012, Dr. Metzler has been persistent (and consistent) in his pursuit to improving the rigor, accountability, evaluation and support necessary to increase student achievement.
Dr. Roxanne Wilson, Assistant Superintendent

The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for personnel functions in the Hampstead and Timberlane districts as it relates to interviewing and hiring certified staff, investigating personnel and labor matters in partnership with the Human Resource Director, and acting as the Human Rights Officer for both school districts and the SAU. She also acts as the Superintendent for the Hampstead School District and leads a team of administrators and directors to that end. Other related tasks include assisting in the writing of school action plans in Timberlane, and leading numerous initiatives as directed by the Superintendent. Dr. Wilson is committed to improving the educational programs and system practices necessary to empower both teachers and students to excel to their fullest potential.
George Stokinger, Business Administrator

The Business Administrator (chief financial officer) is responsible for all business and accounting operations for SAU 55, the Hampstead School District and the Timberlane Regional School District. This includes activities associated with payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing and budgeting. Additionally, the Business Administrator provides direct oversight of the transportation, food service and facilities departments. Mr. Stokinger is steadfast to the mission of ensuring proper administration of internal controls over public funds and making such reports available to taxpayers and the appropriate government agencies.
Nancy Louiselle, Director of Human Resources

The Director of Human Resources oversees the administration of benefits to approximately 1, 500 active staff members and 375 retirees of the districts of Hampstead, Timberlane and SAU 55. These benefits include life, dental and medical insurances, short and long term disability plans, 403b and 457 programs, flexible spending accounts, etc. Other responsibilities of the Human Resource Director include serving on the districts’ negotiation teams (there are currently five collective bargaining agreements), conducting investigations of personnel and labor matters in partnership with the Assistant Superintendent, implementation of the hiring process for all staff members, and governmental reporting. Ms. Louiselle strives to effectively administer benefit plans to all eligible staff members and makes it a priority to foster a district-wide attitude that promotes the fair and equal treatment of all employees.
Geoffrey Dowd, Business Operations Coordinator

An attorney and financial controller by background, the Business Operations Coordinator for SAU 55, assists with the Business Administrator in all areas of finance and reporting, as well as in supervising the facilities, maintenance, food service and transportation departments. He also serves the Superintendent on various projects and advisory committees to ensure optimal operational efficiency and compliance in the delivery of services to the students, school boards, and member towns.
Sandra Hodgkins, Transportation Coordinator

The responsibilities of the Transportation Coordinator are to design and develop safe and efficient school bus routes for both the Hampstead and Timberlane School Districts. This is accomplished by working closely with district transportation vendors to assure District and student’s needs are being met. The two school districts manage a combined total of 28 regular route buses a day, along with several special education buses and buses for extra-curricular activities. Both the contracted transportation companies and Ms. Hodgkins are dedicated to providing efficient and safe transportation to and from school each day as well as to and from each school sponsored activity.
