Superintendent’s Message

February 11, 2013

I would like to take this opportunity to thank those citizens who participated in Timberlane’s Deliberative Session. It is my hope that participation will increase next year and trust will continue to grow. Special thanks to the Budget Committee led by Michelle O’Neill and our School Board for their time and commitment to providing exceptional value for both the taxpayers and children in our district.

We have an agreement with the Timberlane Teacher’s Association on this year’s ballot that is both mindful of the taxpayer and designed to keep the brightest and best teachers in Southern New Hampshire here in Timberlane. Although we have building needs we purposely pushed them out and will revisit them in the future. This year our top priority is the teacher’s contract.

I have identified and area of concern regarding our lunch program. Some accounts have negative balances that need to be addressed. You will be receiving a letter shortly with our current School Board policies and procedures. I recognize that some families may be experiencing financial hardship so please contact your building principal as communicated in the letter. Thank you in advance for your cooperation regarding the lunch account balances.

Inclement weather poses problems for all of us, especially for Superintendents that have to call off school. Whenever possible I like to do it as early as possible so that parents can plan for family coverage. Some storms do not provide that luxury. I will continue to make the safety of your children and our staff the major driver in every decision. Once again, thank you for your patience with the new guy as I try to figure out the weather patterns in Southern New Hampshire.

Finally, I would like to congratulate our Assistant Superintendent Winfried Feneberg on his appointment to the Windham Superintendency. He welcomed me with open arms and helped me learn the ropes here in Timberlane. I am eternally grateful for his professionalism and friendship. He has given us more than 25 years of outstanding service. Windham is fortunate to be getting a true professional. We will be working together for the remainder of this school year. Thank you Mr. Feneberg!

Please feel free to contact my office with any questions and concerns. I can be reached at 603-382-6119 or Email. Thank you.
