SUPERINTENDENT ACCEPTED INTO THE AASA NATIONAL SUPERINTENDENT CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

January 7, 2015

SAU 55 is pleased to announce that School Superintendent Earl Metzler has been accepted into the 2015-2017 American Association of School Administrators National Superintendent Certification Program.  This two-year program focuses on sharpening the skills that successful superintendents acknowledge are needed to thrive on the job.
Among the elements of the academy experience is fourteen days of in-person instruction from current superintendents with track records of success, intra-session work, simulations and business management training, and ongoing mentorship and coaching from experienced AASA member superintendents, all of whom have a demonstrated track record of success.

High on the list of academy topics are business skills, finance, board-superintendent relations, political and crisis management.

Dr. Metzler is one of only four superintendents from New England (and one of only 27 nationwide) chosen to participate in this cohort.  Successful completion of this program will result in National Superintendent Certification. Additionally his program will allow Dr. Metzler to improve upon his academic skills set, leadership abilities, and management protocols, and most importantly, to understand how his ongoing professional development fits with the mission, vision and goals of the Hampstead and Timberlane Regional School Districts.

* AASA, the School Superintendent’s Association, has partnered with one of the nation’s premier leadership development organizations, The SUPES Academy, an award-winning national leadership academy, to create the AASA National Superintendent Certification Program.
