First Round Winners of The Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce Interview Challenge Announced

March 11, 2016

As part of The Timberlane Regional School District Community Partnership Program, the first round of the Greater Haverhill Chamber Of Commerce Interview Challenge was held on March 10th at Timberlane Regional High School. Nineteen members of Antoinette DeSisto’s Accelerated Entrepreneurship Class took part in the competition. Students from Haverhill High School and Sanborn Regional High School also took part at their own schools. Each student was interviewed by local business owners and rated using a predetermined rubric which included punctuality, resume, attitude, appearance, and poise. The top five students from Timberlane are:
• Gregory Moore
• Colleen Donnelly
• Nicolas Nifakos
• Christopher Bowen
• John Sapia
These five students will now move to the second round where they will be interviewed by a panel of three business owners. Each school has five students in the second round. The top three from those fifteen will move to the final round that will entail a one-on-one interview onsite at a local business. The winner will be announced at the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce Spring Gala in May. We would like to thank the following businesses/colleges for their participation and support:
• John Guerin, Northern Essex Community College
• Jim Smith, Advisor, MTM Insurance
• Melissa Cerasulo, Gold Leaf Jewelry
• George Moriarty, Executive Director, Center for Corporate and Community Education
• Gerald Casal – Suffolk University
• Krista Munsie – People’s United Bank
We would also like to thank Beverly Donovan and the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce for organizing the Interview Challenge and we look forward to the upcoming rounds of the competition. Good luck to all of the students moving on!
