SAU Board Accepts the Retirement of Business Administrator

January 12, 2017

At their January 11, 2017 meeting, the SAU Board accepted the retirement letter of Business Administrator Mr. George Stokinger, effective June 30, 2017. Mr. Stokinger has served the Timberlane and Hampstead communities for the past 14 years as chief financial officer, performing oversight of all business and accounting operations for SAU 55, the Hampstead School District and the Timberlane Regional School District.   During this time he has assisted the Superintendent, the School Board and the Budget Committee with preparing 42 budgets.  Additionally, he has served as the lead administrator for the transportation, food service and facilities departments.

George has been an outstanding business administrator, tirelessly serving our communities and school boards. We are extremely grateful for his service; especially for his knowledge and wisdom in all things financial.  He will be leaving behind some very big shoes to fill. We wish him the very best! – Dr. Metzler

George has been an outstanding administrator and diligent business manager for the SAU and districts for more than a decade, and he will be missed.  Overseeing the business operations of a $100 million organization is no small task, and I am appreciative of the hard work and dedication that he has shown.   On a personal note, having known the Stokinger family for more than three decades, I wish him the best with this well-deserved retirement. – Jason Cipriano
